Scholarships and Awards

Students demonstrating a commitment by declaring their minor or major in Judaic studies will be considered for a number of available scholarships each year. They are nominated by faculty based on their academic performance.  

Travel Awards

  • Winkler Award for Study in Israel  
    Provides financial support for students pursuing academic study in Israel, with priority given to undergraduate Judaic Studies students. 

Scholarships

  • Harold J. Arkava Fund  
    Offers scholarships or assistantships to undergraduate and graduate students, with preference for those studying the Holocaust. 
  • Cohen and Henes Scholarship Fund in Judaic Studies  
    Awards scholarships to students concentrating in Judaic Studies who demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, and commitment to community service. 
  • Sylvia and Leo Dashefsky Prize and Endowment Fund  
    Recognizes excellence in Hebrew, Yiddish, or Judaic Studies and supports the acquisition of related library materials. 
  • Frances and Irving Seliger Memorial Endowment Fund  
    Rewards students for outstanding academic work related to Holocaust studies.
