Avinoam J. Patt is the Philip D. Feltman Professor of Modern Jewish History at the Maurice Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies and the Director of the Museum of Jewish Civilization at the University of Hartford.  He received his Ph.D. in Modern European History and Hebrew and Judaic Studies from New York University.   Patt teaches courses on Modern Jewish History, American Jewish History, Responses to the Holocaust, the History of Zionism and the State of Israel, Jewish film, and Modern Jewish Literature, among others.  RSVP to attend.

CALL FOR PAPERS

We invite graduate students to submit proposals for their papers, which should include the following information attached:

  1. A paper title
    2. An abstract of a minimum of 300, and no more than 500, words
    3. Contact information, including name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, and graduate institution.
    Please send proposals as an e-mail attachment to Emma Cudahy at eecudahy@indiana.edu with “Jewish Studies Graduate Student Conference Proposal” as its subject. Proposals are due by November 17, 2014. Final decision will be made no later than mid-December.

EIGHTH ANNUAL ASMEA CONFERENCE

The Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa (ASMEA) is pleased to offer the following grant opportunities to its Members in conjunction with the Eighth Annual ASMEA Conference to be held on October 29-31, 2015 in Washington, D.C.

ASMEA will offer research grants of up to $2500 to qualified scholars and students engaged in the study of the Middle East and Africa. Application deadline is Monday, March 2, 2015. Find out more information, HERE.

ASMEA and the Moroccan-American Cultural Center (MACC) will offer research grants to scholars and students whose research is focused on the Kingdom of Morocco.
